When it comes to health, we often separate things into boxes: the dentist for our teeth, the GP for our physical health, maybe a counsellor for emotional wellbeing. But the truth is, the body does not work in silos. Oral health influences the brain. Emotional trauma impacts physical illness. Chronic inflammation links everything together. At The Emporium of Health, I bring these pieces together. My background as a dentist, functional medicine practitioner, and emotional healing practitioner allows me to see health in its full context — not just symptoms, but the bigger picture.
Dentistry: More Than Teeth
Dentistry is not just about fillings and cleanings. The mouth is the gateway to the body and a mirror of systemic health.
- Gum disease raises inflammation throughout the body and is linked to heart disease, diabetes, and dementia¹.
- Oral bacteria such as Porphyromonas gingivalis have been found in the brains of people with Alzheimer’s disease².
- Oral infections can burden the immune system and disrupt metabolic balance³.
When we care for oral health, we protect the whole body.
Functional Medicine: Finding the Root Cause
While conventional medicine often focuses on symptom management, functional medicine asks: why is this happening?
- Is brain fog due to blood sugar swings, hormone shifts, or toxins?
- Is fatigue the result of nutrient deficiencies, poor sleep, or chronic inflammation?
- Is gum disease just about brushing, or does it reflect systemic immune imbalance, or nutrient deficiency?
By using advanced testing, lifestyle medicine, and personalised nutrition, we identify and address the root causes that keep people unwell⁴.
Cognitive Health and the Bredesen Protocol
My training in the Bredesen ReCODE Protocol adds another dimension – supporting people at risk of, or already experiencing memory changes. The ReCODE approach looks at over 30 contributors to cognitive decline, including oral health, inflammation, toxins, and nutrient status⁵. Research shows that targeting these factors can slow or even reverse cognitive impairment in some individuals⁶. This is where dentistry, functional medicine, and brain health overlap, and why oral–systemic links are so important in protecting memory and cognition.
Environmental Medicine and CIRS
Many clients I see have unexplained symptoms: fatigue, pain, and brain fog that no one has been able to explain. Some of these cases are due to Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), triggered by mould or other biotoxins. Dr Ritchie Shoemaker’s published research shows measurable changes in immune markers and brain structure in those with CIRS, as well as improvement through his structured 12-step protocol⁷ ⁸. In the UK, CIRS is poorly recognised, but I am trained to guide clients through testing, environmental support, and recovery strategies — offering clarity and hope where none was given before.
Emotional Support: Releasing What Holds Us Back
Even with the best nutrition, supplements, and protocols, many people remain stuck because of unresolved trauma or limiting beliefs. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Matrix Reimprinting are powerful tools to release emotional blocks stored in the body. Research shows EFT reduces anxiety, depression, PTSD symptoms, and cortisol levels⁹ ¹⁰ I have worked with clients who:
- Sabotaged their health goals until a deep-rooted trauma was uncovered and released
- Struggled with food cravings until we addressed subconscious childhood beliefs around sweets and comfort
- Carried long-term fear or phobias that dissolved through gentle EFT tapping
When emotional healing is combined with physical interventions, true transformation becomes possible.
A Whole-Body, Whole-Person Approach
Your body is electric, interconnected, and resilient. Oral health, gut health, brain health, and emotional health are not separate, they are one story, expressed in different ways. The Emporium of Health Approach means:
-
- Looking at oral health as part of systemic health
Using
functional medicine
- to find and resolve root causes
- Applying ReCODE strategies to protect and rebuild the brain
- CIRS where standard medicine has no answers
- Integrating emotional healing to release trauma and unlock long-term change
The Takeaway
Health transformation happens when we see the whole person. Dentistry, functional medicine, cognitive health, and emotional healing are not separate disciplines, they are essential pieces of the same puzzle. This is what makes The Emporium of Health unique: an approach that joins the dots, brings together science and compassion, and empowers you to heal from the roots up. <h2Ready?
